Aaron Deupree - Committee Member
Aaron Deupree spent his early formative years in the Rio Grande Valley of southern Texas, where his parents were teachers in the bilingual community that predominates in that region. In high school and university, his interest in languages was further piqued by studying Mandarin. He later undertook his initial teacher training and completed his MEd in International Education, with emphasis on bilingual education, and completing research and publishing on using home languages in international school classrooms. Having taught in Japan and Switzerland the last 15 years, he is now the ESL department head at Leysin American School in Switzerland. He is also the father of two small children, the eldest now attending the local Francophone school in the small alpine village where he and his family live.
