We are looking for teachers to participate and share their experiences at the 11th triennial ESL and Mother Tongue Conference on 3-5 March, 2017 at the Tivoli Hotel and Conference Center in Copenhagen, Denmark (Click here for view our official conference poster). The theme for the whole conference is "The Power of Multilingual Classrooms in International Education: Implications for Curriculum Design, Teaching and Learning" and we definitely have an amazing line-up of invited speakers.
All of our presentations will fall into one of our four sub-themes:
Assessment & accountability
Practices & Approaches
Leadership & PD
Culture & Identity
We received many proposals for our teachers for teachers sessions and have already selected 12 proposals that we thought were a great match to our conference theme.
However, we are still looking for attendees to participate in our poster presentations, speed-geeking, job-alike and round table sessions.
Poster presentation: display a poster containing information and images of good practice and written explanation with a focus on process as well as products to be displayed in the exhibition area. There will be specific times in the program for participants to look at and interact with the poster displays, so might want to stand next to your display during those times. (35 minutes)
Speed-geeking: prepare a 5 minute creative pitch of your innovative idea or product supported by visuals or realia. After 5 minutes, participants move to another station in the conference room to see a different presenter in successive 5-minute sessions for a total of 35 minutes.
Job-alike: facilitate a discussion between people with the same job/roles in different schools for 35 minutes in an allocated conference room based on topics you propose to the group.
Round-table: lead discussion for educators with a common topic of interest chaired by an expert or practitioner for 35 minutes.
Please fill out this Google Form and share your ideas on how you might participate in one of these sessions.
